Could God Use Western Nations to Reestablish Israel and Fulfill Prophecy?

Yes, it is possible that God is using the support of the West to accomplish His will for Israel. But we must be careful that we don’t make too much of that possibility. God will restore Israel in His own time and manner. However, His wrath will fall upon any attempted restoration that doesn’t abide by His standards of justice. Consider what God said to ancient Israel when she was relying on Egypt for help instead of God:

Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, who rely on horses, who trust in the multitude of their chariots and in the great strength of their horsemen, but do not look to the Holy One of Israel, or seek help from the LORD. Yet He too is wise and can bring disaster; He does not take back His words. He will rise up against the house of the wicked, against those who help evildoers. But the Egyptians are men and not God; their horses are flesh and not spirit. When the LORD stretches out His hand, he who helps will stumble, he who is helped will fall; both will perish together (Isaiah 31:1-3 NIV).

This passage specifically tells us that God will “rise up . . . against those who help evildoers.” If any nation is so unwise as to support Israel or the Palestinians in evil deeds, God will judge them. God uses both the pure and the misguided efforts of mankind to accomplish His will. Nonetheless, He will still hold nations accountable for their sins. This means that Western nations should seek justice for both Israelis and Palestinians, and not seek to justify injustice or careless violence caused by either.
