Marketing Content Specialist (Bilingual French/English preferred)

Position Summary

The Marketing Content Specialist is responsible for collaborating with the Marketing Team on the development and implementation of a ministry-wide digital marketing strategy that supports our overall mission and vision and meets the impact objectives of Our Daily Bread Ministries Canada. You must share our passion for the Word of God and have experience in website design/management, content writing, and strategic planning. You are responsible for driving engagement with users across all channels, with a focus on our websites. This includes close collaboration with other senior management to devise and lead engagement strategy aligned with our brand voice and copy guidelines. This position will develop and implement marketing campaigns, projects and dialogue to increase engagement.

Essential Functions

  • Write clear, compelling, mission aligned‑ content for web, email, social media, print materials, and marketing campaigns, using the brand’s tone and voice.
  • Because this role supports national audiences, the ability to create and adapt content in both English and French is an asset.
  • Oversee the content strategy for multiple ministry websites, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and an excellent user experience.
  • Maintain and update digital content to reflect current resources, programs, and ministry initiatives.
  • Develop and execute content-driven‑ marketing campaigns from concept to completion.
  • Plan and maintain an editorial and engagement calendar across platforms.
  • Collaborate with internal and global teams to understand project goals and create supporting content and messaging.
  • Apply SEO best practices and analyze engagement data to optimize content performance.
  • Track monthly KPIs and report insights to guide future content and web strategies.
  • Research trends, tools, and storytelling techniques relevant to digital ministry engagement.
  • Provide Biblically grounded responses to user inquiries across various communication channels.
  • Ensure content workflows uphold privacy, compliance, and ministry standards.
  • Coordinate with programmers and technical teams as needed to ensure sites remain functional, secure, and optimized.
  • Report directly to the Director of Marketing.

Study or Knowledge and Experience

  • A degree or diploma in marketing, communications, journalism, professional writing, digital media, or another related field.
  • Formal study in French or equivalent experience is considered a strong asset.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience in digital and print communications.
  • Strong Biblical knowledge to ensure content is aligned to correct interpretation and ministry guidelines.
  • Exceptional command of the English language with advanced and editing writing skills; ability to adapt messaging across audiences and platforms.
  • Demonstrated competency in digital marketing, including website content development and page building, social media engagement, and email marketing.
  • Minimum of one year experience working with Shopify or similar e-commerce platforms is preferred.
  • Minimum of one year experience building or maintaining websites in WordPress, Optimizely, or a comparable CMS.
  • Experience coordinating multiple marketing projects and detailed timelines across platforms.
  • Working knowledge of APIs, webhooks, and digital experience platforms (DXP) is an asset.
  • Understanding of charitable accountability and stewardship of donor-supported‑ resources.
  • Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience defining, tracking, and reporting on KPIs related to website performance, social engagement, and digital campaign outcomes.
  • Leadership experience in marketing direction, digital strategy, or audience engagement.

Miscellaneous notes

  • This position requires a background check and police clearance as a part of the employment contract. A confidentiality agreement is also required to conform to privacy policies.
  • Our office is in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Preference will be given to candidates able to work in the office. The option of working remotely or using a hybrid model will be considered.
